the veil will be lifted
the skies will clear
and the seas will part
the burden will be eased
the pain will go away
or be forgotten
or not matter anymore
I don’t remember what it is
but it will happen
at any moment
the confusion the haze
will lift leaving only clarity
and these wings beating
against the hard restraint of
this chrysalis this pupa this coffin
this barrier will break
real real or imagined and I will
fly forever however briefly against the winds
any second now
irrationality, prejudice and hate
this fly on my food will go away
and exist no more in this now sacred space
harmony will spread through the universe
already the reality we all seek
always present always just out of reach

in between breathes
