Sunshine

Inhale the universe
Exhale the universe
Let it all go
Hold on to nothing
Don’t let the morning light fool you
The sun masquerades as enlightenment
Good enough to fool the Egyptians
Into worshipping Ra
A better god of course than one who the flooded the world
To kill the sinners he created in his own likeness
Admittedly it’s powers are impressive
It gives light and heat our world
Our blue rock the only one that feeds on it’s radiance
The light and heat on your face
As you sit in meditation are not realization
Unless it is gratitude for the rays
That fly over the millions of empty miles
To give life to everything
To give life to the moment you now surrender
That tells you have seen the light
Inhale everything
Exhale everything
Until there is nothing
But the everything
Wisdom or brain chemistry
Who said god isn’t a chemist?
Remember that when you fall
And you will fall
And the slippery slope of failure
The dark bottom is reaching up
With tentacles that grab
And pull you back down
When you struggle to be free
But go deeper than the place you started from
Remember that there is strength
Where you have fear
The monster in the pit is powerless
If you just take one more breath
If you just let the light that shines in you
Light the way
The walls will not be so high
Your grip will grow stronger
And you will forget why you fell
And remember just the last breath
The sun on the garden
And the bird singing its eternal song
And take the wheel of the bus
