Woodstock Revisited

Yasgar’s farm is a strip mall
littered with trash and graffiti
the bomber jet planes
shot gunned the butterflies
our journey to the garden
is a horsepower race on the 5
in a big hurry to extinction
the hippies have all gone to Wall Street
the scientists weep and children
beg their parents for their very lives
having already spent the future
on QVC and easy payments
for plastic bobblehead animals
the falconer has gone mad
and is hallucinating the center
luxury beckons like the sirens on the rocks
everywhere the reef shows its teeth
hope is the dope fueling the dream
but hope persists
someday soon the hypnosis
will lose its control
and children will smile again
